WordPress 2.0.3 Bug?

For some reason, comments are no longer being rendered properly. Line breaks are not converted to break tags. Unless breaks or paragraph tags are explicitly coded by the commenter, multiple paragraphs mush together. This glitch’s appearance seems to coincide with my upgrade to WordPress 2.0.3.

Are any other WP users having this problem? Is there a way to fix it without rolling back to 2.0.2?

Pass Me the Good Stuff!

Thanks to the coolness that is Del.icio.us, there’s a quick and easy way to alert me to stuff you’d you’d like me to blog about. First, get these browsers buttons, or if you’re a Firefox user, this extension. Then, tag web sites with "for:AlesRarus" (without the quotes). That’s all there is to it. I probably won’t blog every page you send me, but I promise to at least look at it. 🙂

Internet Exploder

I really hate Internet Explorer. It’s a web designer’s nightmare due to its lack of CSS standards compliance. If anyone has had or is having problems viewing my blog with IE, I’m sorry. I simply don’t have the time or the inclination to tweak my layout until IE doesn’t choke on it. If any of my readers wants to try their hand at fixing things, they have my blessing. Drop me a line via the contact form if you get things to look right (or fix the annoying stac overflow problem I’m having). I can’t give anything in return except a public thank you. Perhaps you’ll shave off some purgatory time for your efforts. 😉

Buttons (Still) Needed For St. Blog’s Parish Aggregator, Blog List, and Web Ring

Calling all artsy folks in St. Blog’s Parish!

The Catholic Blogs and Resources page, St. Blog’s Parish Aggregator, and St. Blog’s Parish Web Ring are in need of promotional buttons. They should be at least 100px by 100px and no larger than 135px wide by 170px tall. Designs should be simple, elegant, and not based on any copyrighted images or phrases. An example from which to draw inspiration would be the Firefox and Thunderbird logos. I don’t want to offer any more suggestions for fear of stifling creativity.

I really have no way of rewarding the artist whose design is picked except in the form of attribution and gratitude. Are there any kind souls out there who’d be interested in helping out with this?

Here are some submissions we’ve already received:

“Write Here in Pittsburgh”

Pop City has a nice article about some of the top-notch blogging going on in Pittsburgh.

"Were they alive today, would acclaimed western Pennsylvania-born writers Gertrude Stein, Nellie Bly and Rachel Carson be bloggers? It’s a subject one imagines populating the blogosphere, a venue for community engagement enlivening the region."

Be sure to visit the blogs mentioned in the article. Say hi and tell ’em I sent ya. 🙂
