Random Endorsement
"Funky Dung is one of those rarities of the Evangelical Ghetto, a Roman Catholic. I have found that his blog is a useful antidote to the lingering bigotry amongst some Evangelicals (as opposed to constructive debate) against the RCC, and his site is wonderful at showing some of the things that we have in common. Any Christian can learn from his examinations of piety and faith, not just fellow Catholics. His posts about uniquely Catholic topics (as opposed to general Christian ones) are excellent at dispelling some of the misconceptions that abound, and even if I can't fully subscribe to them all, I find them well worth reading." -

random thought of the moment:
The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work and then they get elected and prove it.

An Overdue Apology
As stated in an earlier post, I owe some people an apology. Before I make good on my promise, I must apologize for taking so long. I probably could have whipped up something quick, but I thought it better to put time and consideration into my words. It would have been a […]
Apology Forthcoming
Once again, my overactive mouth (or in this case, keyboard) has gotten me in trouble.
A rather
unpleasant affair occurred at Evangelical Underground. When time permits, I
will be publishing an apology to all involved. I will also be apologizing for snide
comments I made in my
Marty […]
Purge Me With Hyssop
"Remember, man, that you are dust and to dust you shall return."
On the first day of Lent, these are the words (adapted from Genesis 2:19) spoken as someone, usually a priest, dips his thumb in ash and makes the sign of the cross on […]
Discovering a Season
Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I get so excited that I start listening
to my Christmas music at the beginning of November, much to the surprise and chagrin
of some of my loved ones. This year, I've been asking myself what I've been getting
excited about. Is it […]
A Contrite Heart You Will Not Scorn
As my sidebar bio says, I have traditionalist and neo-traditionalist sympathies. We traditional types must always guard ourselves from succumbing to Pharisaic tendencies. It's easy for the pious and overly-devotional (POD) to look down their noses at the progressives sharing the pew with them. This Sunday's gospel […]
