West Penn Track Club recently held its annual election for its board of directors. Of the 130+ members in the club, ~35 returned their paper ballots (I’ll have a better count after the next board meeting). There were eight nominees for seven positions. I lost. I’ll soon no longer be the chair of the membership committee. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Bloated
I’ve been told umpteen times that my blog loads too slowly. To remedy this, I’ll be playing around with different themes for a while. As that happens, functionality may come and go, but the content will always be there (barring a destructive database goof).
Oops
Yours truly made a database blunder and had to recreate two posts as a result. Apologies to the two commenters on Jerry’s post.
Poverty and Libertarianism
While personally admiring of some principles of libertarianism, I’ve tended to think of libertarians as the partisans of employed, healthy, childless, college educated people. That said, America’s current political climate has had me rethinking my priorities for what should be done now.
Blogfest 12
I attended Blogfest 12 tonight. Also in attendance was Andrew Stockey of WTAE. I took the opportunity to show my geek credentials by capturing webcam video of Andrew’s cameraman capturing video for a story. Unfortunately, the audio level was set too high, so the video isn’t fun to listen to. It’ll be good for some stills, though. The only video clip I’ll likely upload is of Andrew’s multiple takes for a teaser.
