I’m a sucker for personality profiles, political quizzes, and other similar tests
floating around the Net. I just took a cool test called The
Ethical Philosophy Selector (Thanks to The
Nomad Tavern). It ranks your similarity to famous philosophers and schools of
thought. In that respect, it’s a lot like BeliefNet’s Belief-O-Matic.

Funny :)
Whenever I move up the food chain in The
Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem, I check the incoming links to see who’s linking me.
Doing so I found a complimentary post at extreme
Catholic. Apparently I’m funny. Groovy 🙂
Also found in that post is a link to a cool aggregator of sorts for St. Blog’s sites
(which is how he found me). I wouldn’t have found him if he hadn’t found me.
Intolerant Family
Unfortunately, I’ve experienced some of the familial anti-Catholicism this blogger
describes. My mom is a bitter ex-Catholic and we often get into nasty arguments
over religion. Compared the following situation, I’m quite lucky, though. My mother
and I have a loving relationship filled with plenty of healthy communication. A
good friend of mine had it worse when he converted from Judaism to Evangelical Christianity
and then to Catholicism.
How discouraging it was for me to learn today that not only is my mother-in-law
displeased with our conversion to Catholicism, she honestly believes we’ll be going
to hell if we persist in it.
Roots
I just registered my blog over at BlogTree.
Sometime in either late 2001 or early 2002 I started “Scribbled Lines”,
which you now know as “Ales Rarus”. I established the official birthday,
however, as April
17, 2002 because a computer crash ate all my entries. I restored them from the
published site on 4/17/02.
The 33% Solution
Some of the questions in this test of geekdom might fit better in a test of nerddom.
Trust m; there’s a difference. Anyhow, apparently I’m only 33% geek. That would
probably come as a bit of a shock to my friends. 😉
