2008 Race for Pace 5K
Well, I didn’t finish the Race for Pace in under 25 minutes, as I’d hoped. Still, I can’t be too disappointed. Running on a very hilly course just one week after running a grueling half marathon, I finished in 25:20. Not bad.
A Tale of Two Races: 2008 Great Race 10K and Chamber Classic Half Marathon
Thisentryis part 5 of 5 in the series 2008 RunningIt was the best of races. It was the worst of races.
On September 28, I ran a PR in the Great Race, finishing in 50:49. That’s more than 3 minutes faster than last year’s 53:56. The only way I could have been happier is if […]
2008 Mothers Days 5K and Fathers Day 10K
Thisentryis part 4 of 5 in the series 2008 RunningOops. I’ve neglected to report on my participation in the Race for the Cure 5K on Mothers Day. Well, my 26:59 finish (8:42 pace) wasn’t my worst, but it certainly wasn’t my best. I certainly haven’t been training as much as I should. In my defense, […]
2008 Just a Short Run Half Marathon
Thisentryis part 1 of 5 in the series 2008 RunningOn Saturday, I ran my fourth half marathon at the 8th annual Just a Short Run. It was definitely my worst. I’m not too disappointed, though, considering I didn’t really train for it. BTW, that was a bad idea; don’t emulate me. Anyhow, I finished without […]
2007 Harry C. Holland Gutbuster 8mi
Thisentryis part 13 of 13 in the series 2007 RunningOn a warmer-than-average Thanksgiving morning I ran the Gutbuster 8mi. I stumbled in at 1:34:23, exhausted and sore. Man that’s a brutal course, especially when you haven’t had time to train more than once a week. My split was a little more than 43:00, about a […]
