My training has been going really well lately. On Wednesday, I did twelve 400 meter repeats. I did the first eleven in 2:00 each and the last in 1:20(!). Yesterday, I ran a very hilly course in Frick Park about 10.5K long in 51:00, a ~7:51 pace, which is faster than the 54:00 (8:43 pace) I ran in the Great Race 10K!
I think a really big help I had in both training runs was the 2006 Camelbak Catalyst 28 Oz Hydration Pack
I'm really glad I bought a hydration pak and heartily recommend it to any aspiring distance runners. Just don't make the mistake I made by ordering from BikeSomewhere.com. I don't want to trash the company here, but if you want to know the crap I went through, just drop me a line. [muttering]!@#$ing morons…[/muttering]

I got my Camelbak from BikeSomewhere via Amazon, and didn't have any problems.

Posted 08 Oct 2006 at 8:47 pm ¶They have ~85% rating from customers, which is pretty low when you consider that as long as the product arrives on time and undamaged, most people give full marks (thus skewing the ratings upward). Long story short I waited a month for a product that is still on back order (but listed as in stock at Amazon), got fed up and changed my order to an in stock product, and received a product that was neither. It's good enough, though, so I'm cutting my losses and not dealing with them again.

Posted 09 Oct 2006 at 1:35 pm ¶You can get a Camelbak at plenty of different stores around town. I think I've seen them at Target. I find it easier to buy things from a store, where you can see the product, touch it, try it on, and such. Stories like this have turned me off to online shopping.

I've seen Camelbak biking products lots of places but I've never seen any of their running products in stores.
