More on sheep stealing:
The Agape Press says that "residents of the Central American nation are hungry for the true gospel". What's implied here is that Catholicism doesn't teach the true Gospel. Sometimes Evangelicals really drive me nuts.

Well, on the other hand, catechism is so poor that I can't entirely blame the Evangelicals. In Mexico, at least, the Church is sometimes crippled by the fact that the priests are of Spanish descent and have a hard time connecting with the Indian-descended Mexicans. That and you have people who still have pagan practices leftover from Mayan times–Our Lady of Guadalupe did wonders for the Americas, but the Church must keep up with that witness.
I'd rather that the Latinos stay Catholic, but if we aren't taking care of our own and helping people bring Christ into their lives, I can't blame people for going elsewhere. We should pray more and do more in the way of concrete (e.g., monetary help, teaching, etc.) rather than telling the Evangelicals to back off.
