The subject of cursing seems to be a favorite among Christian bloggers. Rather than repeat myself, I'll point you to this and this.

random thought of the moment:
The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering person – every person – needs: namely, loving personal concern. We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything, but a State which, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with closeness to those in need.

Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies
that people utter will be forgiven them.
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
will never have forgiveness,
but is guilty of an everlasting sin.
Just thought it was relevant. Some blasphemes are forgivable (most of them it seems), some are not. Further, they are still sins (specifically which ones are indeed still up to debate).
