Riiiiiiiiiiiight

This strikes me as just a little too convenient. (See – I’m not just critical of Kerry.)

Pentagon: Bush Military Records Destroyed

WASHINGTON – Military payroll records that could more fully document President Bush’s whereabouts during his service in the Texas Air National Guard were inadvertently destroyed, according to the Pentagon.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday?

A friend of mine brought an interesting point during a conversation this evening.
He said that the outcome of the Spanish election was directly affected by the terror
attacks there. He thinks the same may happen here if Bush is strongly leading in
polls close to the election. Maybe I’ve just had my head in the sand (or perhaps
the clouds), but I hadn’t thought of that scenario. Will our country be rocked by
a major terrorist attack during the weekend prior to the presidential election?

Read these stories and drop me a line. I have no firm opinion or agenda related
to this topic. I’m curious to hear any serious commentary and discussion.

Jerry Falwell thinks
that “[f]or conservative people of faith, voting for principle this year means
voting for the re-election of George W. Bush”. If that’s what your principles
guide you to do, go for it. Just don’t toe
the party line
. Too many people think that to vote “third party” is
a wasted vote. For me, voting for principle means rejecting the corrupt two-party
system.

Florida
Must Release List of Ineligible Voters

By Jane Sutton

MIAMI (Reuters) – Florida must release a list of suspected felons it wants purged
from voter registration rolls so the names can be checked to avoid errors that wrongly
disenfranchised voters in the state’s disputed 2000 election, a state judge ruled
on Thursday.

Debatable

Here’s a great editorial in the St. Paul Pioneer Press about opening
up the presidential debates
to more participants.

Return
to old-style presidential debates

Few folks realize that the U.S. presidential debates have been quietly taken over
by the two dominant political parties and retooled in secret to give the major parties
advantage, to exclude third-party candidates and to limit actual debate.
