Sick Sense of Ethics

What?!? How is letting them be born stranger than chopping them up for science???

A Home for Their Embryos
By Ellen S. Glazer

Carla has both a close friend and a close family member who are struggling with infertility and she acknowledges that she thought about donating the embryos to one of them. As an infertile person with close friends who had adopted, Carla had many positive feelings about adoption. How wonderful, it briefly seemed, to have someone close to her “adopt” her embryos. However, like most others who give some thought to embryo adoption, Carla realized that giving her embryos to someone else was fundamentally different from adoption: adoption is a loving solution to a social problem. This, by contrast, would mean bringing children into the world whose fate had been sealed in an embryology lab. It was simply too strange — the idea that their full biological children would be raised in another family. The fact that that family would be close to them did not make the option any more appealing.

Great Lesson (Not)

With crap like this, it’s no wonder why so many kids treat sex like it’s a game.

Online Safe Sex Game Attracts 125,000

"In www.SuperShagLand.com, a parody of Nintendo’s hit Super Mario Brothers, an intrepid man or woman chases the boy or girl of their dreams, gaining points for each condom they gather and losing points for drinking alcohol or bumping into monks, nuns or dogs."

Military Intelligence is an Oxymoron

Satellite Enthusiast Watches NATO Spy Pix
By Paul Majendie

A British satellite enthusiast has discovered that anyone can tune in live to U.S. spy plane photo transmissions over the Balkans. John Locker said the freely available pictures by both manned spy planes and drones can pinpoint a location to within two meters (six feet).

War On Error: Live Pictures Taken by U.S. Planes Were Freely Available
By Duncan Campbell

The war on terrorism in Europe is being undermined by a military communications system that makes it easier for terrorists to tune in to live video of U.S. intelligence operations than to watch Disney cartoons or new-release movies. For more than six months, live pictures from U.S. aerial spy missions have been broadcast in real time to viewers throughout Europe and the Balkans. The broadcasts are not encrypted, meaning that anyone in the region with a normal satellite TV receiver can spy on U.S. surveillance operations as they happen.

Election Morons at it Again

This is the same stupid county that couldn’t figure out how to vote in the last
TWO elections. We’re not talking MENSA members, here. I don’t care who you voted
for in the last two presidential election, ya gotta admit that there’s something
fishy with these people.

Fla.
County Makes ’23’ a Passing Grade

You can get three-quarters of the answers wrong and still pass this test.

Palm Beach County high school students taking a new history exam this week need to answer just 23 of 100 multiple-choice questions correctly to pass.

To get an A, they need to get just over half the answers right. A B grade requires only 39 correct answers.

The new final exam for American and world history classes was developed by school district officials to ensure students learn state- required lessons that include history about women, Africans, African-Americans and the Holocaust.

The 100-question test, specific to Palm Beach County, replaces individual final exams that teachers create themselves. The district, which recommended the grading scale, sent letters to schools giving them the option to use it on the new test.

Teaching the Truth

This is another case of liberals having a cow over protecting sacred beliefs. Secular Humanism forbid *chuckle* someone actually try to defend a CONSISTENT set of beliefs.

Catholic campuses head for showdown over obedience to church, academic freedom

A deadline looms Saturday that could ignite a smoldering conflict over academic freedom between the Roman Catholic hierarchy and theologians at the nation's 235 Catholic colleges and universities.

The winners and losers won't be immediately clear, but in coming years jobs and the shape of Catholic higher learning may be at stake.

Acting on instructions from the Vatican, U.S. bishops have ordered Catholics who teach their faith's doctrine, morality, Scripture, law or history at Catholic schools to obtain a "mandatum" (mandate, in English) from the bishop of the diocese where the college is located.

The document, which the bishops agreed should be obtained by June 1 — this Saturday — attests the theologian teaches only authentic Catholicism.
