In the wake of publicity associated with a "crusade" to be led by American tele-evangelist Benny Hinn in Brisbane later this month, the city's Archbishop John Bathersby has said he is "disappointed" by people attracted by signs and wonders holding unreal expectations.

You shouldn’t have to be told that plagiarism is wrong. Last I checked, kids are taught that copying others’ work is unethical and grounds for failure in elementary school. "I got away with it for a long time" is not an excuse for being let off without consequences. A hundred wrongs don’t make a right. Maybe the rules were applied unevenly. So what? Rules are rules. This guy’s mother should smack the taste out of his mouth.

This question is representative of the evangelical mindset I’ve been encountering
a lot of lately. To be Christian is to support Bush. To suggest otherwise to them is
scandalous. *sigh* I can name plenty of good Christians who don’t support George
“War is Peace” Bush – and I don’t mean the wishy-washy kind that think
gay marriage, abortion, cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and euthanasia are
good ideas.
