Bill Again

Scare tactics?!? Starting an unauthorized church is schismatic. General absolution is heretical. This guy has more than a few loose screws.

New church risky move for pastor
By Erik Siemers, TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Tuesday, April 13, 2004

"The Rev. William C. Hausen thinks of the Roman Catholic Church as an institution of the Middle Ages, an entity that shuns new ideas and contrary positions."

Heretic

This guy isn’t just a schismatic or wayward. He’s heretical.

"The Sacrament of the Eucharist (Holy Communion) will be offered to all who attend the Liturgy"

All? That is absolutely forbidden by the Church. Valid confirmation and no stain of mortal sin are required.

"Father Bill Hausen is a validly ordained Priest. He has not and will not resign his Priesthood. As taught in Catholic Theology, ‘Once a Priest, always a Priest.’"

Not for long he isn’t. He was validly ordained, but he can just as easily be validly defrocked.

The main issue here is not his opinions on ordination. That only got him moved ("Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.") The problem is his rejection of Church Tradition and authority.

Breakaway ‘Catholic’ Church Stirs Controversy

"A priest who holds views that some in the Roman Catholic faith call radical is being criticized as he starts a new church, Channel 4 Action News anchor Scott Baker reported."

Media Bias

Pope
accuses media of pro-gay bias

In a statement released for the Church’s World Communications Day, scheduled for this May, the pontiff said the media should concentrate on “marriage and family life,” and realize their responsibility to the general public. Despite claiming to reject censorship, the pope went on to say too many newspapers, TV channels and radio stations promote issues such as homosexuality, as well as contraception and abortion.

I think JPII is dead right on this one. Homosexuality is shown in a very favorable
light on TV. Anyone who doesn’t accept homosexuality as wholesome diversity is represented
as a bigot, rather than someone with moral conviction.

Bishop With Balls

It’s about time somebody applied well-established Canon Law to keep nominal Catholic
politicians in line.

Sanctioned Sin

I hope and pray that orthodoxy will prevail in the Anglican Church.

Nigerians Protest Gay Priests, Bishops
By DULUE MBACHU

“LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Anglican Church held a day of fasting and prayers Monday to protest the confirmation of homosexual priests and bishops in the United States and Britain. “

Maybe this will lead to a new Oxford Movement. Cardinal Newman, pray for us.

Vatican eggs on Anglican split in US
Cardinal praises conference planning break over gay bishop
By Stephen Bates

“The Vatican has publicly endorsed US Episcopalian hardliners gathered in Dallas to plan the breakup of their liberal national church. In a surprise letter from Rome on behalf of Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the Catholic enforcer of doctrinal purity, wrote to the organisers praising their stand. Support has also come from one of Britain’s most respected evangelicals.”

I hope and pray that orthodoxy will prevail in the Catholic Church. We are supposed to be in the world, but not of it. Just because secular society approves of homosexuality, doesn’t mean the Church should. Doctrine isn’t about what makes us feel good or what’s easiest. It’s about following when the Holy Spirit leads and obeying God’s commandments as set forth in scripture.
