Nemo Praestat

On August 13, one
of my entries
entry was featured on nihil
obstat
, a blog that seems to be entirely dedicated to catching other bloggers’
syntactical, semantical, or otherwise grammatical mistakes, because I had misspelled
“Flynt” as “Flint”. Thank you, O Wise One, for showing me the
error of my ways.

I suppose this is a useful service, but I can’t thank the author for it directly.
There is neither a comments system nor a trackback URL to be found on the site.
There aren’t even permalinks! Anybody else think this is a bit cowardly?

[Update: After reading several entries, it appears that only St. Blog’s members
are being proofread. Who is this guy?!? – Funky]

Journalism Rant

There’s been a lot of talk lately of the potential effects on mainstream journalism by blogging. One improvement I’d suggest is linking to source material!!! It drives me nuts when a journalist posts a story about some survey, poll, website, research, or whatever and doesn’t tell us where to find it!

To any journalists reading this (yeah, right), if you’re going to summarize someone else’s work, please tell your humble readers where to find the material in its entirety. Thank you.

Here’s an example. Would it really have hurt to provide a link to Vote for Change or Rock for Life?

Get a Piece of Me

My Blogshares woes seemed to have been solved. In order to fix the problem, though, all the shares from my old URL had to be sold off. This was actually good news for me because I made a heck of a lot of "money" off the transaction. As a result, I was able to buy stock in several other blogs, while maintaining 50.5% of my own.

The analysts report for my blog says it's underpriced and advises buying. At $2.20 a share, I can't disagree. Invest in me. 🙂
