Today is the feast day of Saint
Philip Neri. He founded the Oratorian order, to which Venerable
John Henry Newman belonged. The “parish” I attend is the Ryan
Catholic Newman Center, an oratory.

A friend of mine
is a member of the Little
Oratory, so she posts quite a bit about Neri, particularly today.
It’s good to see that the New York Times is holding itself corporately responsible
for negligent reporting. It bothers me, though, that they focused so narrowly on
mistakes in favor of the Bush administration. It’d be nice to see admission of mistakes
in favor of liberal groups.
