World Threat

Is it time for a regime change?

“In this Wednesday April 30, 2003 handout photo from Greenpeace, U.S. President George W. Bush appears as the ace of spades in a the deck of cards issued by anti-nuclear campaigners who have created their own most wanted list. The Greenpeace deck is meant to focus attention on the dangers posed by nuclear arsenals and 600 decks are being handed out to delegates at a two-week meeting on the 1968 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, in Geneva, Switzerland. Funny Philosophy

This article reads more like a Douglas Adams story than a work of a philosopher. It’s quite readable, even to the layman, and it’s hilarious. If you’ve ever wondered about mind, body, identity, and other issues in the philosophy of psychology, this is a fun place to start your exploration.

“Where Am I?”

Now that I’ve won my suit under the Freedom of Information Act, I am at liberty to reveal for the first time a curious episode in my life that may be of interest not only to those engaged in research in the philosophy of mind, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience but also to the general public.

Universal Tool

Once again duct tape is proven to be the universal problem solver.

Judge Duct Tapes Defendant’s Mouth Shut

“LUBBOCK, Texas – A Texas judge ordered a defendant’s mouth to be taped shut after the man kept interrupting his lawyer and the judge during an aggravated assault trial.”

Here’s another good use for duct tape.

From Weird to Weirder

Remember Real Ultimate Power? Well, by following a few links, I found a site that makes it seem normal. The author of RUP wrote a reply to the hate mail sent to the site (which, by the way, is way more juvenile than the obviously joke-driven site itself). It resides in a college student’s account, which I believe belongs to RUP’s creator. I went to the index for that account and found some very odd cartoons. Check it out:
