		<description>Genesis records Satan as being a serpent, not a snake. Most commentaries I've read have described the intended meaning as something more menacing, such as a dragon. C.f. the dragon in Revelation.

Also, have you forgotten that a snake prefigured Christ when Moses held a bronze snake aloft to cure the people of poisonous snake bites? As man brought sin to the world, a man took it away.

Anyhow, it's best to not get too tied up in allegorical symbolism. The point is to find a mascot that puts the LP on a level playing field in the political market.</description>
