		<description>Their salaries are relativly low compared to what most of them could make in the private sector, and I expect my legislators to travel around a lot so I don't think the per diems are unreasonable either.

All that being said, Virgina has a part time Legslature that only meets on average 45 days per year. Most of them have other jobs or private businesses they run for the rest of the year. If VA and many other states can run well with a PT legslature, why not PA?</description>

The columnist mentioned those, so why not outsource all of our perks to the lobbyists, who *should* have to work to maintain the legislators they buy! This is America, everyone has to work! Even the 90-year old pensioners have to put in their time at Wal-Mart.</description>
