…and I'll show you a society that immortalizes a deformed kitten.

Update 01/17/06: The public mourning for Cy continues. Oy. Check out this Jimmy Akin post. Take note of how many visits he got and the kinds of comments that were left. I wish more people would feel as sorry for their fellow men as they do for this kitten. I'm not even talking about just abortion and euthanasia. I'd like to see more sympathy for the homeless, the hungry, the lonely, the oppressed, the abused, the addicted, etc.

Showing pictures of too-young fetuses may cause the same effect. Nancy and I have learned, through experience, to see the beauty in very young hatched chicks. Many people are repulsed, though. Waiting until they are slightly older helps dramatically. Humans may be genetically programmed to be revulsed at spontaneously aborted fetuses as a way to help the parents get over the loss.

Of course, the extremism of the pro-life movement also results in loss of sympathy for their cause. I was wondering about going to the Pro-Life march, but when I saw the slogan "No Exceptions No Compromise," I realized that I would not wish to be associated with the group. Further reading at the PCUC website convinced me I want nothing to do with them.

As a result, they reduce their numbers and weaken their position. Babies die because there is no compromise. Great job.
