		<description>You're probably right, that there would be minimal impact by such an event.. the organizers were very open to more diverse representation on the platform, but couldn't get them there.. can you help? Who do you think would pay their own dime to be a part of such an event? (all of us speakers and attendees had to cover our own costs)</description>

		<description>The Christian island in the blogosphere is far more diverse than the makeup of GBC.  I find it interesting that the majority of those willing and able to pay their own way were right-wing, American, Calvinist Evangelicals.  Are folks from other parts of the spectrum or different theological traditions poorer and/or cheaper?  Surely there are  more potential willing and able attendees than showed up.  Perhaps the organizers were indeed open to diverse opinions.  If so so, then the failure lies in lack of effective advertising.   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't get me wrong, I nothing against the people involved with GBC.  In fact, a number of them are bloggers I greatly admire.  However, I just don't think any productive good will come of it.  I don't expect any changes that will get Christians out of their blogging ghetto.</description>
