I don't see anything wrong with #2.

Why shouldn't married Christian women invite their married friends to a lingere party? Now, I'm not a Catholic, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing the R.C. church has against wives getting lingere.

Christians are rather weird on the topic of sex. Why shouldn't husbands and wives have an active, enjoyable, and enthusiastic sex life? I think that would be a selling point for both Christianity and fidelity.

I'm rather skeptical such parties will be handled with dignity and class. I doubt they'll be discussing JPII's "Theology of the Body" or any of Christopher West's popularizations thereof.

The point of the party is not to discuss theology. It's to buy lingere and form friendships. Like St. Francis said, Preach often, with words if necessary.

Somehow, dignity and class aren't what I'd imagine such a party being — the parties are supposed to be humorous and just a little risque.

Humor deals with interrupted defense mechanisms. Folks aren't used to talking about sex, and so there will be joking. For that matter, sex is not exactly what I'd call dignified and classy. Sex is messy and absurd, and a couple needs a good sense of humor.

I still think it's a great idea, although I really wouldn't want to be the person to suggest it.

One should not form friendships to witness, but witnessing should occur naturally to people you care about.

Christians are so bound to the church and have no friends outside the church that they can't witness. It reminds me of surface area in chemical reactions. If a church has little "surface area" with the community, it won't spread the Gospel. A few people might walk in off the street, but most people come to church because they were invited or saw something in the life of another person and wanted that something.

Christian Laungere is just the Church being captivated the consumerism/sensualism of society.

I'd probably want to withhold judgement on the condensed Bible to when I've read the judgement of esteemed biblical scholars like Tom Wright on the subject.

Now true heresy would be to base a choose-your-own adventure book on the Bible. Do you accept the Cross or go back and marry Mary Magdalene(go to page 1032 if the first and page 1058 if the second.)?

Note that it's not "Christian" lingere, but rather Christians buying lingere at parties they attend with their non-Christian friends. Lingere parties aren't any more consumerism than rocket launches or fish shows or any of those other things I do.

It doesn't have to be lingere; the speaker used that as an example — apparently a bad one because it's so distracting.

F.D. and I blog with Christian and non-Christian bloggers and readers. We run races where there are non-Christians. We go to blogger get-togethers: do you think no one there knows we are Christian? If they don't, they'll probably find out!

Whatever you do, do for Christ. And whatever you do, remember that others will be watching you and your actions will reflect on Christ.
