OK, so the title is a bad pun. The topic is serious, though. Something needs to be done about the "ethnic cleansing" going on in Sudan.

I read a very disturbing article today about the systematic, government-encouraged rape of women (ages 8 to 80) in Darfur…
How do you possibly put a headline on a story that sums up the suffering of thousands of people? I really struggled with that.

Posted 20 Jul 2004 at 6:35 am ¶What did you come up with? I might have used "Hidden Holocaust" or "Silent Slaughter" to emphasize how most of the world seems disinterested in this tragedy.

(I think that's what the subhead was…)
At any rate, I can't get that story out of my head. It was hideous. And yet the U.S. is doing nothing? We need to get our congressmen/women to realize what's going on. And then the U.N.
